[Listening to: Flowers Bloom - Mandalay - (3:57)]

just finished watching "don't copy that floppy" here at work. it's great stuff. nothing like early 90s rap-style anti-piracy propaganda to get the day started right. this morning was also spent discussing the blatant shortcomings of the league of extraordinary gentlemen. no one here really cared for it...zack thought it was decent, but chuck and i agree on its overall quality. he also has a theory on the classification of sean connery movies, or rather, the universal rules of sean connery movies. when i hear what they actually are, i'll probably comment on them.

anyway, i just came off of a weekend of doing 7 shows in 4 days and i'm pretty tired. nothing newsworthy (for me, at least) is happening on the net and penny-arcade is down, so nothing there, either. as i mentioned earlier, i've been reading speaker for the dead and it keeps getting better. it's the primary book in the reading queue now. pretty surprising considering that the other times i tried reading it, i thought it was crap and really uninteresting. i'm glad to find out otherwise.

i think there may be some electronic purchases this week. maybe some games as well, but that's still up in the air. i've slowly been getting back into the video game world, but it's happening in a very weird sequence. for example, the main game i'm wanting to play right now is hot shots golf 2 for the psx. i havent played this game for a few years, but i'm wanting to play it all the time right now. i think i may have to send my sega cd off somewhere to get it fixed. i'm a little apprehensive of this, but it is my favorite system and i want to play the games for it. brad also suggested that i bring some random system over to the house this friday and i'm very much looking forward to it. my gaming has become quite social and i like to have others around to experience it all as i experience it. not to mention the mad games of amplitude that i foresee happening.

last night, i downloaded a text to mp3 application. the version on the site is trial, but circumventions can be found...i used them. anyway, this program takes either text you type into it or text files and generates an mp3 of a voice reading the text. for now, i only have access to some shitty sounding digital voices, but the idea is really cool. my main plan is to take text files of books i've wanted to read and convert them to mp3 so i can listen to them while i'm at work. once i get the hang of it, there may be a section for that up here as well (that brings the total "mentioned sections but no sign of them yet" to something like 10. oh well, i may get to it one day.

ok, so penny arcade is back up and they're talking about the venerable wil wheaton of star trek:tng fame. the comic is pretty funny to say the least.
