pretty good weekend. movies, card games, video games, etc. this week apparently has some big news already. the 27 holds that mars will be closer to us than it's ever been in recorded history. i've seen mars quite a few times already. it's a big, bright red "star" right now, but i'd like to get a telescope on it and see the landscape if possible.

quite a lot of buzz in the video game realm. first off, final fantasy: crystal chronicles is on its way to the cube. while i haven't seen or heard too much about it, i read an article today that sounded very intriguing. this final fantasy is multiplayer. in order to multiplay, a gba is needed per player. this allows the screen to stay un-altered (no split-screen) and the players can manage their inventory / navigate menus on the gba without interrupting the action. another really cool feature is that if you are spending a lot of time dealing with the inventory, your character will automatically follow the party and continue with the action. not too many people are happy with needing a gba to play it, but i think it's a damn cool idea. i'll just have to get another gba for jessica at some point so we can play.

more game news: killer 7, a capcom game originally slated for the cube, but is now coming on multiple platforms, is looking damn sweet. it's a cool 3-person (i think) action / shooter. here's some screens of it.

jessica played the harry potter card game last night and it was pretty fun. we need more cards, though, because there isn't much variety in the starter decks. she beat me, as it were. i was malfoy and she was hermione.

anyway, i suppose that's it for now. maybe a review of pirates of the carribean later. out.
