penny arcade has a pretty good comic today that hits fairly close to home. i think this particular time of year is starting to get to me. you see, for some reason around late summer through fall, i have this crazy urge to play video games like i've never had before. however, it's not just any game that i want to play. this want is a picky want and, as such, focuses on games i've played many times before...games like castlevania, lunar, and the final fantasy series. even as we speak, i'm listening to final fantasy music and i've been wanting to pull the ol' emulators back out, too.

mars was closer to us last night than it's ever been (in written history, at least). i wasn't awake to look at it...then again, i don't have anything to look at it with besides my eyes and house windows. anyway, nasa had the hubble get some pics of it and they look pretty sweet. there are supposedly more on the way, but i only found a few when i looked.

there may be some more harry potter cards in mine and jessica's possession soon. we played again and, again, i lost. i pulled out some mad strategy right before i died, but i need a bigger deck to really make moves. she's wholly more aggressive and, as a result, hits me for a lot of damage early on in the game.

ah, just got a phone call from my baby...she picked up some more harry potter cards, so it's on now.
