- yawn...it was still dark out when i left -
Filed - Life

yesterday was a big headache...that's all, nothing much more bothersome than that, but it still was bothersome. what happened, you ask? first off, i think i've mentioned the poster i've been working on before, but i was pretty much going to complete it yesterday. well, the resolution is so high that any time i tried to do anything with it, it bogged the machine down (not to mention the many times it crashed the other machine i was using). anyway, another unforeseen problem was the fact that it wasn't showing everything that was supposed to be displayed. well, after fighting with it, i thought i fixed the problem and tried saving it as a .tif (file format). it saves, but it takes something like 30 minutes to do so. lo and behold, the stuff that wasn't displaying still wasn't displaying...and this is 5 minutes before the boss was leaving to go to the print shop. well, needless to say, it wasn't done in time and i'm still fighting it now, but i'm pretty sure i've won this battle.

fast-forward a little bit. my car was in dire need of an oil change...something like 7000 miles on the oil that was in there. so, i head to picayune, one of my favorite towns in mississippi...it's right up there with cleveland. (as a note, from here on out, anything green will signify immense sarcasm...this goes for future posts as well) i manage to get my oil changed in something close to half an hour and begin to leave, but it didn't want me to. my car stalls about a block from the oil place and i'm stuck on the road with my car not wanting to start back up. luckily, some people came and helped me push it into a parking lot and that's where it is now. let's just say i'm seriously looking for something new.

enough about yesterday. so the nokia n-gage...yeah, what a great system that is....it's so much better than the gameboy advance. the thing that gets to me the most is all the attention it's getting, like it's actually going to be great and good and the most innovative thing ever...but it just looks like a big piece of crap and a huge waste of money to me. it's a phone that's trying to have console-quality games on it. there's gotta be a trade-off somewhere in there. i think the main reason i don't like it is because it's so hyped. of course, i don't see the point in text-messaging via phone either, but i'm sure the people who do would think the n-gage is the best thing ever. as per usual, the guys at penny-arcade have something to say and it's pretty close to what i've just stated.

so i was at work at 730 this morning...that's what happens when your car breaks down and you have to ride in with your parents...oh well, they also leave earlier than i usually do, so i'll be leaving earlier too. i have an overwhelming urge to read comics and play video games...which is probably what i'll do tonight with jessica. out.

Haha, I agree completely about the ngage. You also look like a fool when talking on it.
