- i mention "platform," but not in reference to video games -
Filed - Just about Everything

wow...i've been all over the place today. first off, i wanted to mention howard dean's scream/yelp from the caucus last night. i didn't actually watch any of it, but as soon as i got here this morning, joel and zack were telling me about it...and they had the audio file on their computer...classic! i'll be getting that tomorrow and putting it on here...you should see the pictures, too. oh yeah, we compared dean's screamyelp to the classic "wilhelm" sound byte used in the star wars movies among many others...both will be available i'm not partial to any of the candidates; in fact, i don't even know who's running, let alone their platforms. i just know that i don't want bush re-elected, but who's really around to take his place and do the right things?

i'm listening to a radiohead mix that dj goop put together and i didn't realize that they did a song i'd heard on one of jessica's comp cds. "thinking of you" always sounded like a ben lee -esque or similar style song instead of kickass radiohead...it doesn't even sound like them to me. of course, i never got into radiohead until my last year in college, so i have a little catching up to do.

literature: i've been reading kevin smith's run on daredevil and it's awesome...great new ideas for hornhead to face with a big dilemma right at the start. this series even has a tragedy element to rival frank miller's run. the character development is superb and smith's telltale dialogue is not as evident, but still excellent. i've read his jaunt with green arrow (which was also awesome) and the daredevil issues are the same kind of feeling. he's a great comic writer. other literary notes are my reading palahniuk's survivor and listening to crichton's prey. the latter is quite interesting. i actually have the corporeal book to read, as well, but i got the audio first, so i've been listening to that. it's not quite cyberpunk...actually, it's not that at all. it's a modern sci-thriller where all the action is taking place currently, but the technology is still a little fantastic.

my new quest is to find affordable guncons for the ps2. i want to play time crisis and other games, but i have no implements. for that matter, jessica would also like to shoot criminals, so i'm looking for two. specs: compatible with guncon games (especially the time crises), recoil feature, foot pedal. so far, the only luck i've had is finding the games that come with the guns...i don't need that...i can get the games through gamefly...i just want the guns.

i was surfing around one day, like i do, and came across a site called high industrial. there's something about his design that i like, but i can't put my finger on it. i may start working on a new design for deus ex...something that's a little higher-tech...i don't know, maybe something like a glass-based interface (think minority report). i tried making one like that a while back, but no luck...much like the steampunk/industrial idea i had...that one needed too much real art versus digital.

i've been typing for a while now and it's almost time to go, so i will. out.
