Another Saturday at work. Bleh. I do not want to be here, but it does give me a chance to catch up on some homework. My stomach hurts and I am tired. Last night was Chris Rock at the Beau Rivage. It was a really good show. The opening act was equally as good. It was a guy who has written and performed on The Chris Rock show. He warmed up for about half an hour and then Chris came out and performed for an hour and a half and it was funny. The subjects ran from Halloween in Mississppi isn't the only day it is scary for a black man to politics to sex and marriage and news like Kobe Bryant, the war and drugs. He was really funny and the audiece responded nicely I think, especially for it being down here and the subjects he was talking about. There were a lot of people there. I think it was worth the $50 I paid for it. We were almost to the very top of the theater but the seats were still good. The theater isn't very big, really. Norm MacDonald and John Lovitz are coming in December and I think that would be a good show. I would also like to go and see the Blue Man Group later this month.
My dad's surgery went well on Wednesday. He will be out of the hospital in a few days. He no longer has the colostomy bag and hopefully he will start to feel better and the infection is hopefully gone. Being sick damn near everyday for over 6 months is not freekin' fun.
Book sale at the library today. I bought a few things. A big dictionary because I can't find mine at all and a couple of Frank Herbert non-Dune books just cause and Heart of Darkness because I can't find me copy of that. It was a good book and the complete works of William Shakespeare because for some reason I am compelled to buy works of Shalespeare if i see them for sale. I guess it's kind of like seeing Catcher in the Rye and having to buy it. I have at least two copies of that book. Anyway, all of that only cost me $1.80. Not bad. I bought a bag full of books before and it only cost me around $2.50. Books for 5 and 10 cents. Yeah. Anyway, I am going to do some more homework and them probably shelve some books. Later....
