The last couple of weeks have been a blur of missing and wanting and being occupied. Joel went out of town last week for his job. He had to go to Ohio, 850 miles away from here. Another time zone, another climate, a place with more than 2 varieties of trees. It was hard at first, I don’t like to be far from him for an extended period of time, but I happen to have awesome friends who kept me entertained and occupied which is more helpful than they will ever know. The week before that was a wind down from the summer vacation frenzy that is Disney World and Universal Studios. I went with Joel and his family (his mom, dad, and sister) and friends of the family (Steve, Sandy and their daughter Katie who is a friend of Joel’s sister Hilary). Joel and I had a blast. It was fun, hot, but fun. It is nice that we got to do our own thing for the most part. We only had to take the ever-giggling girls to Universal the one day we were there. It was fun. Hilary and Katie are very cool to hang around, even with the 10 year difference.
Recent things:
Joel and I saw Chronices of Riddick Saturday. I was surprised at how good it was. I was prepared for a mindless Vin Diesel kicking ass type of movie. It looked good, there was a plot and the plot was well done and executed. The seeing of the movie prompted the purchase of Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury animated movie done by Peter Chang, he did the Animatrix short “Matriculated” and Aeon Flux from the liquid television days. Dark Fury bridges the gap between Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. Yet to view Dark Fury, but I am sure it will be watched tonight.
In other things: I purchased a working turn table and I love it. It was just sitting there all unused at the thrift store and it was only $20 so it became mine. I then accompaied my friends Stephen and Leah to a very cool record shop and bought a couple Davis Bowie records (The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, Space Oddity, Alladin Sane, and Diamond Dogs) along with a Monty Python Record (Monty Python’s Previous Record). I was quite happy with my purchases. Joel already had a couple of records that he had yet to listen to like NIN Pretty Hate Machine, Alice in Chains Jar of Flies, and DJ Vodim U.S.S.R. The Art of Listening. The latter is actually nice, good beats to chill out or work to. We also raided out parents record collection and received Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Three Dog Night, The Beatles, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin to just name a few off the top of my head.
Oh, I wanted to share this picture with all.

This is Shelob, she lives in our closet. She took down that moth and ever since then we pretty much let her do whatever she wants. We will live in harmony with her as long as she lives in harmony with us. That’s a quarter by her so we could show scale. She’s a big spider. She comes out to look around every now and then. She hasn’t killed anything as massive as that moth since that picture was taken, but I am sure she is quite healthy. I shall leave with that. Later…
shelob is beautiful. so glad to see that you finally updated. love yououuuuu
