dame brammage

Sleepy, but productive. I have finished my research paper. All I have to do now is put the endnotes on it, but I have to fix the format of it because for some reason it isn't doing what it is supposed to be doing. I blame microsoft. I am pretty much caught up in my other classes as well. Joel isn't here right now. His friend Geoff is in town and he is hanging out with him. They hardly get to see each other and I don't want to cramp their style. So he went out with Geoff last night and this morning and I went and hung out with Kristyn last night and wrote my paper and did some homework this morning. Now I am tired of writing and doing school work so I am calling it off for the day i think. Tomorrow it will be the fine tuning of the paper, you know, reading it over making sure it makes sense, and studying for some tests that I have on Monday and probably start on some sort of method or schedule to study for my finals next week. Fun, fun, fun until her daddy takes the t-bird away. I had fun last night hanging out with Kristyn. Towards the end her and Shanna were remembering a friend who recently passed away, and although I knew him briefly, I really didn't have a place in the mourning for him so I left there about midnight and came home and picked up around the house before going to bed shortly after that. I wanted to have a positive work enviornment to study and work in over this next week, so clean up I did. I am not feeling too hot today. It is just my allergies I know, but they are sapping the energy from my body. I had another sneezing attack this morning that was pretty bad. I will probably be paying for it later with back pain. I finally got some medicine to take for it, so hopefully the horrible sneezing fits are over. I had a margarita last night. It was tastey and nice. Kristyn showed off her "sparkly" ring to everyone and just looks so happy. I am very, very, very happy for her. Everything seems to be falling into place, eventually. I have hope for everything. Anything is possible. Well, I have hope for everything except going shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't believe I did that. Yeah, I got a couple of gifts and a really good deal, but the anguish and the hours of waiting around, just in one place, and the people. God, the people. It was scary, but i made it. Well, I am going to go and find something mind numbing to do, possibly go and watch some of the Iron Giant marathon on Cartoon Network. Later....

freezing sleepy

It is damn cold in this library. My blood isn't flowing that fast in the first place, so the cold isn't helping. I have a test tonight that I started to study for, but in the middle of reading over some things, I forgot what it was that I was studying. So I stopped trying. The professor can kiss my tired ass. I am so exhausted today. Dad was taken to the hospital last night again. It wasn't related to his stomach or intestines, his wrist was hurting him really bad, and 2 darvocets later it was still hurting so Mom took him to the ER so that kept me up a little later, not to mention that my cat once again peed on my bed and I had to throw away my comforter b/c I had washed it so much it was splitting apart and it looked like one more wash and it wouldn't have come back out. So I was forced to have a not so thick blanket last night and my dad gets hot easily and for some reason my room is the coldest room in the house I froze my ass off last night trying to sleep. Not a very good night's sleep. I still have an hour of work left. Bleh. I need some coffee or something.

MJ...what a freak.

It is finally getting colder. It is quite windy as well. I had a pleasant weekend. Joel and I helped his mom with a Mary Kay party. I got stuff. :-) Then we hung out over at Shannon and Paul's and had quite a good time. I was hoping to see Jim, but he was unable to come over that night. I will have to extend an invite to him for our wedding. Our wedding. Yeah, haven't done anything with that yet plan wise. It is all a bunch of ideas. i don't know. I guess I am hoping it will all fall together nicely in the end, but somehow I don't think that is going to happen. Why does it have to be all difficult? And I want to get married on a Sunday, which is even more difficult apparently. It's not just that it is a Sunday, it is the Feburary 29th, leap year, and dammit i want to get married on that day. It is strangely appropriate.
On with the weekend. Saturday we went out with Jason and his wife Criston and I had a good time. I drank some vodka (just for you, kristyn) and was feeling pretty damn good by the end of the night. Joel and I then just chilled at my house and watched movies. Sunday we went out and Joel spent money on movies and game accessories and we went and hung out with Brad and Shanna and the assorted house guests that were there.
Kristyn is going to be in town this weekend which i am looking forward to. I have had the urge to have a Kristyn night for a while now, even so much as to consider the 5 hour drive a couple of times. But i have no time or money to do that now. Between me trying to get all my school stuff done at the last minute and taking care of dad and having to work a little more b/c of a co-worker's illness I have no time at all, especially when you add Joel to that mix.
So how about that Micheal Jackson stuff. Took long enough, huh? Freak.
I am so ready for the holidays. No more night classes. No more scattered schedule. 9-5 straight with an hour and a half lunch break on Tuesdays and Thursdays next semester. Nice. I can't wait. I work Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays probably with every-other Saturday off, which is good I think. That will keep me a little more in line when it comes to school. This going for an hour here and then an hour there and not on this day, but on this day is trying my patience. Hopefully that will all work out in the spring. Well, I think I have babbled enough. Later.....

boring into my very shoulder

So yesterday was a bit hecktic. There was only me and another person at work all day pretty much and the kids came pouring in after 3 asking me how to spell things like "source", "encyclopedia", "Michael Jackson" and "Aaliyah". The latter two from the same little girl who also asked where the biographies of famous people were and after I showed her she brought up a book on Ray Charles and asked if he had a website. "I don't know. Look it up." I have this piercing pain in my left shoulder. It is dull at first, but if I try to move my shoulder at all it turns into a raging hot pain that bores into my very soul, or my muscle, whatever is there at the time I suppose. Does anyone have an idea of where I could hold a wedding reception on a Sunday? I called a place and the lady who i talked to was all shocked i wanted to get married on a Sunday. "Reception on a Sunday? You probably won't be able to find anyone to marry you on a Sunday anyway." I wanted to tell her it was none of her damn business and to shut up. Well, it was Marlin Ladner's office, so I am sure the staff there is very competent. So I have to find a place that we can have the reception. I don't want to change the wedding date either, but we may have to. But that will come later. Plan day by day I guess. Not much else. Not looking forward to class. Man, if my back doesn't stop hurting I don't know if i will be able to make it. Perhaps i will take a hot shower before i go. I need to. I woke up late this morning and since I took a bath last night i didn't worry about showering this morning. But now my hair is oily and my skin is blotchy. Ouch, my shoulder. Well, thats it for me folks, later....

picture of the truth

Joel and I were watching The X-Files last night. It was the second season finale titled Anasazi. Now, in the show, cell phones were very, very essential to the plot. Scully and Mulder were always in contact with each other by using their cell phones, Mulder got tips from people calling his cell phone. They didn't go anywhere with out it. In the particular episode we were watching last night Mulder ends up in a boxcar full of what looks to be alien skeletons. He, of course, uses his phone to call Scully and tell her of the great evidence he has of alien life and the government covering it up. Now, this is all happening in the years 1993 or 1994, roughly. As I watched Mulder call Scully (which is unbelievable already because he is in a boxcar in the middle of the desert in 1994 and his cell phone has reception? Come on. With all the improvements 10 years later we still don't get that kind of reception in the middle of civilization.) something came to mind. The new camera phones that have come out in the last two years. If Mulder had one of those, the show would be over in an episode. He calls Scully and says, "Hey, Scully. I found this box car full of skeltons that look alien." and of course Scully says, "No you didn't. You are crazy." and then all Mulder would have to do is take a picture and send it to her and say, "Uh huh. See, told you so." and there would be some evidence. He could run around with it and take pictures of Krycek and Cancer Man and pretty much rule the joint by the end of the episode because of his enormous cell phone bill and some cleverly taken pictures. So that is why the show ended. Technology advanced so that we would always know the truth or be able to take pictures of it. But then you have the whole plausable deniablility thing where the FBI come in and say, "Well, uh, those phones can be hacked and you can make a picture you took of your dog look like an alien skeleton," and so on and so forth, but who believes them anyway?

keys that stick

Saturday! Whooo! Unfortunately I have to work during this particular Saturday. I got some stuff done, though. I managed to get caught up on my Spanish workbook that i needed to do and now i am currently looking over my notes for a test I have on Tuesday. I also have a couple of quizzes on Monday. I should look over my notes for those as well. Bleh. Too much stuff and a sticky keyboard. Does quizzes have 2 z's or just 1? Anyway. Jan, the woman I am working with today is taking a writing class and she is writing a story while we are at work. i think that's cool. I should try and take one maybe. I would like to write again, I just don't know what or when or whatever. You know? Give me an assignment.
Dad is doing better. He is eating now and starting to get up more often. I am glad. His spirits seem to be up as well. I am glad. It helps me out a lot to see him happier. Joel and I are starting to get things together for our wedding. Plans are forming, date is set, things like that.
It is a beautiful Saturday. I wish I could be outside reading or walking or something. Joel and I unlocked Bulgaria last night on Quidditch World Cup. Yeah, prepare for some ass kicking with Bulgaria. I reread Prisoner of Azkaban recently. It felt so good to just soar through that book. I think i will be reading The Da Vinci Code soon. I have heard too much good about it to not read it. I think I will enjoy it. Alright. Enough dilly-daddling. Later....

now i shall have the cup

Quidditch is mine. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Thanks, baby. :-)
Friday. That means me sitting around the house saying I am going to do school work when in reality I will do everything but school work. I will try. Not much going on. Beautiful day out, I have all the windows in the house open to let the cool air in and get some fresh air in the house. Simpson's Hit and Run for the GameCube is on its merry way which should be very, very cool. We have played the game before on the PS2 and it was quite fun. Viewtiful Joe will be cool to play too. We will probably get that once we send Castlevania: Lament of Innocence back. Well, this was a crappy entry. I guess i will leave it at that. I don't have anything else to say really. Later...

What crawled up your ass and died? Oh yeah, it was the cancer!

I had to leave a website because some stupid bitch said I had nothing relevant to say (meanwhile she posts very relevant quizes like: What liquor are you? and Which bondage Care bear are you?...yeah that makes a whole lot of sense) thus publically humiliating me on the web and I could not lash back on the website because if i did i would be kicked off anyway because the only real relevance she has is that she is fucking the guy who runs the site (and breaking the statutory rape laws I might add, she is like 16 and he is 23). Kristyn, wish aloud, my dear, wish aloud. Car wreck, horrible VD, cancer, your choice really, just as long as it is slow, painful and disfiguring. So Joel and I both left the site (which he had been a member of since the day it went up). I'm glad I got all of that hatred off my chest. Now....
Other than that things are alright. I haven't been to work in a week because of it being closed on Tuesday and I had to request Monday off to take my dad to the doctor and me not working on Wednesdays. I am still playing the Quidditch World Cup game. Going for it with team USA at the moment. It is a fun, fun game. So I am just patiently waiting for Joel to get here and I am starving. I think I shall go and find something to eat.

mummies and quidditch cups

I won the Quidditch World Cup! Oh yeah! Bulgaria tried to cut out ahead in the begining, but I got in there and kicked their ass 500 to 20. I am the mad note when it comes to Quidditch. That game is damn fun. I love it. I won the Quidditch House cup for all four houses at Hogwarts and then proceeded with England to get the World Cup. I will probably play with the other teams for the World Cup as well.
Joel and I went to the New Orleans Museum of Art yesterday and saw the Quest for Immortality Egyptian Exhibit that was there. it was quite impressive. Jewelry, tombs, mummies, statues, wooden scuptures, very impressive. We then went along and walked through the rest of the art museum. We saw quite a few things, Pollack, Picaso, Renior, Cassat. There also was a room with photography in it that was very, very cool. I think that was one of the best parts of the museum. The collection of African and Asian art/artifacts was quite impressive as well. There was a sign in one of the hallways that said "Haitian Art" with an arrow, so Joel and I followed it down to the end of a hallway to a small alcove and there was the Haitian Art, all 6 pieces of it. They all looked about the same. Primary colors, people doing everyday things. Do you really need a sign for 6 paintings? The Egyptian Exhibit is worth seeing though. There is about 6 or 7 rooms with the artifacts in them and all came from the Egyptian Museum in Ciaro. The mummy was quite creepy. The statues and tombs were awe inspiring. The detail that was put into them is crazy. Their eyes follow you around the room. We had those electronic tour guides where you punch in the number posted and the appropriate information is given to you by Jeremy Irons. Hehe. Lots of death and rebirth in that place. It would be creepy as hell at night. Well, i better go and get some stuff done. Lots of stuff to do. Later...

i was unstuck in time and all i got was this lousy t-shirt

My dad is snoring in his comfy chair, my homework is laying on the couch open, waiting for me to return and finish it. I am off of work this weekend so I have a couple of days to just lie about, but not really because I have a few things for school I need to do, but it will get done. I'm not stressing yet. Not much going on so far. Taking care of dad, myself, Joel. I've been in a daze lately. Distracted I guess would be the best way to describe it. I don't know what I am being distracted to, but I am distracted none-the-less. I have been off some meds for a couple of days b/c i didn't have time or energy to go to the drug store, so now that I have them hopefully I will feel better. How does a little pill make so much difference sometimes.
You need to hold on to your life. Hold on to your...gonads and strife.
I don't know what is going to be happening tonight. Tomorrow there may be a visit to NOMA (New Orleans Museum of Art). There is a cool Egyptian exhibit there until Feburary that I would like to check out.
For break you pull cart while getting whipped.
Watched some Clerks the Animated series episodes last night.
Big American Party! Fun time for all!!
That was a funny show. Too bad they cancelled it. They will live forever in my DVD player.
I am waiting impatiently for the Quiddich World Cup Game. It should be in today from Gamefly. Perhaps there will be much video game playing tonight. Well, that was a whole lotta nothing for an entry. Later....

don't sneeze on my console

I have been sneezing for the last 45 minutes. Is that a record or something? Shouldn't I get some money or some recognition or a life time supply of kleenex?
Yesterday was pretty laid back. We ended up not going to VooDoo fest. We didn't go anywhere. I was tired and didn't feel like moving much and Joel had a headache for most of the afternoon so we were a bunch of lay abouts not doing much of anything. So now I am apparently getting sick or having an allergy attack. Watched the Simpson's Halloween special last night. Not very good if you ask me. I was trying to find something humorous in it and chuckled here and there, but the magic was gone I suppose. The jokes were either too dumb and obvious for me to laugh at or too smart and obscure that they went over my head. It was probably a good combination of the two. We should be getting the Harry Potter Quiddich World Cup game for the GameCube soon. I returned Ultimate Muscle and Project Number 3 to Gamefly Thursday or Friday and I think Quiddich came out on Thursday. Ultimate Muscle was a pretty fun game. The really cool part being that you can play as a character named Dik Dik Van Dik. Hehe. Dik Dik. He says it enough in the game. It is quite amusing. There are different modes in which you can play. Play against your friends or the computer in vs mode. There is story mode where each ultimate muscle character has their unique story. That mode isn't very long either, but fun and it unlocks other characters to play with. And there is a trophy mode as well. If Dik Dik Van Dik isn't amusing enough for you there is a customizable feature so you can create your own ultimate muscle champion.
Project Number 3 was interesting. You play as this woman whose family were killed by these robots so when you grow up naturally you go into a vocation that will exterminate these robots. Now, it was supposed to be like a dancing/shooting/killing/doing cool moves type of game. It does look good at first. The movement is fluid. The scenery looks robot-postapoctolypitic but then you start to play the game. The levels are repeatative. You go down the same white hallway with the same robots trying to kill you. Well, that's not bad, I can still do these cool moves....what? I can't shoot when I do these flashy ballerina-like moves. So I can move out of the way but can't defend myself when I do it? That sucks. She flips and twists and turns and even puts her hands out at the landing like a gymnast. If she is as bad ass as the game leads you to beleive she is, she should be able to shoot while she is dancing about like a fairy. Anyway. That game wasn't as fun as Ultimate Muscle. What was I talking about earlier? Oh, yeah, Quiddich. I read a review of it in Electronic Gaming Monthly and they didn't give it a good review. The things you need to play a multiplayer game, which is the whole point of us getting the game, has to be unlocked in the single player game. I plan on playing it alot when we get it so I can hurry up and unlock the stuff so we can play it with some friends. It will be fun to play anyway, which is the whole point. Joel told me that there is a new X-Files game coming out on all platforms at some point. Maybe next year? That will be interesting to see what they come up with. I have the first X-Files game for the PC, it is also available on the PS1. It is hard. I haven't beat it, well, I haven't really played it all that much. The guy you play as is pretty dorky and reminded me a lot of Krychek when he first started out. Well, I am going to go and blow my nose again and perhaps drink some hot tea. Maybe I will work on some homework, but I doubt it. Later.

Halloween in Mississippi

Another Saturday at work. Bleh. I do not want to be here, but it does give me a chance to catch up on some homework. My stomach hurts and I am tired. Last night was Chris Rock at the Beau Rivage. It was a really good show. The opening act was equally as good. It was a guy who has written and performed on The Chris Rock show. He warmed up for about half an hour and then Chris came out and performed for an hour and a half and it was funny. The subjects ran from Halloween in Mississppi isn't the only day it is scary for a black man to politics to sex and marriage and news like Kobe Bryant, the war and drugs. He was really funny and the audiece responded nicely I think, especially for it being down here and the subjects he was talking about. There were a lot of people there. I think it was worth the $50 I paid for it. We were almost to the very top of the theater but the seats were still good. The theater isn't very big, really. Norm MacDonald and John Lovitz are coming in December and I think that would be a good show. I would also like to go and see the Blue Man Group later this month.
My dad's surgery went well on Wednesday. He will be out of the hospital in a few days. He no longer has the colostomy bag and hopefully he will start to feel better and the infection is hopefully gone. Being sick damn near everyday for over 6 months is not freekin' fun.
Book sale at the library today. I bought a few things. A big dictionary because I can't find mine at all and a couple of Frank Herbert non-Dune books just cause and Heart of Darkness because I can't find me copy of that. It was a good book and the complete works of William Shakespeare because for some reason I am compelled to buy works of Shalespeare if i see them for sale. I guess it's kind of like seeing Catcher in the Rye and having to buy it. I have at least two copies of that book. Anyway, all of that only cost me $1.80. Not bad. I bought a bag full of books before and it only cost me around $2.50. Books for 5 and 10 cents. Yeah. Anyway, I am going to do some more homework and them probably shelve some books. Later....
