it's me, mario!

Instead of getting anything accomplished today, i managed to play video games. I have Joel's GBA with me and I have been playing Mario and Luigi SuperSaga. It is fun and joyous. The graphics are awesome for the GBA (like PS quality) and the content of the game is great. Good humour, good story and it is easy to get the hang of so far. it is challenging with the button operations for both Mario and Luigi (you pretty much have to control them both) but all in all I would say it is fun had for all!
I don't know what it is about this saturday, it just seems like the lamest of Saturdays ever. The people are extra lame, the weather is super lame and I am just in this lame mood.
I had fun last night tho hanging out with Summer, her dad Oscar, Stephen, and Shannon (Joel was with me of course). We hung out and watched Once Upon a Time in Mexico. It was okay. Desparado was way more clever and thought out. Once Upon a Time was the same thing, except you have Johnny Depp being the ever clever smart-ass that he is in...well, all of his movies.
Hey there creepy towel guy, stop staring at me.

Mmmm. Shai'Hulud

Some guy on the radio is singing about people sashaying by him and I am not sure I am comfortable with that.
I have come to a couple of realizations as of late (meaning over the last 6 months): #1 I need to cherish and love the relationships I have with my friends because it is the most awesome thing in the world next to...#2 the relationship I have with Joel. When the marriage thing came up, and it did quite quickly, I learned so much about myself, my mother and father, Joel, Hilary, Carol and Randy and it is the coolest thing in the entire world. #3 I will continue to learn about the people listed previously and grow better for it. I just wanted to express the above because I think that things in our lives can come down to two different outcomes. We can either learn from ourselves and each other or we can bottle it all up and not evolve at all. At my age I am becoming the person I will be for the rest of my life. I have passed the social tests of high school, college, and the professional life. That is a very important decision.
Damn, I have the writing bug this afternoon.
I have something to propose and I want feedback from people. There is a show on tech tv called X-Play. I am sure that you have read about it numerous times in my posts. Well, one of the hosts of the show, Adam Sessler, looks strikingly similar to the host of another show that I like to watch on Food Network, Alton Brown of Good Eats . Look at this.

Let me know what you think. I'm out...later...

frosty

As i sit here and enjoy my Mcdonald's coffee, bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, and hashbrown you may ask yourself, damn she is up early, and yes, yes I am. I woke up around 5 I guess for one reason or another. The reason I am still up and not trying to catch the last possible minutes I can of sleep is because I had to go and pick my mother up from the hospital at 6 a.m. (where she was visiting my father) b/c her tire is flat. I had to drop her off at work and now I am here eating my breakfast. It was fucking cold outside too. 26 when i left. Brrrrrrrrr. I have class in a little over an hour and a half. I have a little time to do stuff, but not much. Something tells me this is going to be a long ass day. Well, I'm out for now. Later.....

Newton's Apple has cool digital music...from SPACE!

Who calls a bomb threat in at an old folks home? Those poor old people were sitting outside for 3 hours while the fire department went thru the place looking for the "bomb". The said home is just like 2 blocks from my place of work. We were trying to get some of the people to come into the library so they could sit inside and read or watch teevee or something, but by the time we got out there and realized what was going on they were about to go back in.
So classes started for me last week. I am loving my schedule, and my classes don't seem bad either. I think this year is going to shape up quite nicely. The wedding is coming along. It is to the point of hurry up and wait now. Which is fine with me. I am finding less time to do update, so if you come by and the same post has been here for a week that is because between classes, work, and begining my new life I haven't had time to sit in front of the computer and think of things to say.
The library was deleting some of its movies and I got first pick at some of them. I came home with a shitload of free movies. I now own: Rocketeer, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Say Anything, Cirque Du Soleil, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Robocop, Groundhog Day, and the first episode of Newton's Apple. I know, a couple of them are lame, but come on, people, they were free. Well, that about it for me. Later, all....

reptilicus reeks much havoc

Interestingly enough, President bush has single handedly torn, burned, and pissed on the Bill of Rights. Terrorist alert my ass. We need an idiot alert to let us know what kind of mood Bush is in so we know what we can and cannot do. When he is in a good mood the alert will be low, meaning he has had a full night’s sleep and is in good spirits today. Moderate means his favorite show on the WB was cancelled and he is slightly upset, but luckily one of his secret service men has the whole show on tape and Bush didn’t know the difference until halfway through the show. High would be when he didn’t get a lot of sleep because of the shouting of the oppressed and his dog pissed on his shoes. Severe would be when Cheney bitch slapped Bush unconscious and has taken over and the streets are flowing with the blood of the non-believers.
I got the former article from Wil Wheaton's page. I also got this article from his page. It is a planetary photo-journal from NASA.They are just automatically cool because they explore space, and they have that tempurpedic bed. Technology from SPACE!!!! Damn, they have other products with the SPACE seal on it to certify that it is indeed technology from SPACE!! I want to put the little picture on here, but I am at work and have nowhere to save it. But these companies link consumer products with SPACE!!! Well, I think i covered a lot today. From the Bill of Rights to SPACE!!! I also wanted to share this site i just found about Cletus. You'll see. Hehe. Awesome.

what ever happened to billy zane?

The clouds were like a blanket and I was an hour and a half late for work. Yay for doctor visits, blood tests and low batteries!!
Wedding things are overwhelming me sometimes. Not the actual wedding, just wedding things. The people, the smiles, the congratulations and hugs and handshakes. It can all be a little much sometimes, especially during the holidays.
I am gearing up for school and my new life that is about to start. I am excited for the change. I have been pretty stagnant over the last year and a half and now I think I am starting to grow, learn, and experience more.
I started a writing workshop from Orson Scott Card's website. Well, haven't actually started yet, I have to write something and send it in and then it gets workshopped. I just signed up for it because I want to start writing again, but my environment for writing is very limited and the people that I have read my stuff aren't very good critics, so I am going to another source. I hope positive things come out of it. I am excited. I will probably start working on it this week. I also have to start packing things up for my move in with my soon-to-be-husband fairly soon. The 29th of Feb. isn't too far away. it will be upon us before we realize it, especailly when school starts again.
Hey, what ever happened to Billy Zane? Not that I really like him or anything, but he just randomly popped in my head. Wasn't he one of those actors that critics were calling magnificent, like Brenden Fraser? Yeah. Guess there is no room for people like that when people with awesome talent like Jessica and Nick and Paris Hilton are on the screen. Not that I am starting the "Save Billy Zane and Brenden Fraser" fund or anything. But it is amazing how fical hollywood and the general populous is. Maybe about 5-10 years ago I may have considered going to L.A. for a visit, just to go, but now I don't think you could pay me enough to get anywhere close to that place. For all I'm concerned that place is the seed of all that is popularly stupid and I would like to stay here.
Ok. done with my ranting. later....

haitian hating gamers

With the passing of the new year comes second chances. The future is now and now you have no excuse to procrastinate doing the things that you should be doing. It is a chance to start over. I feel older with the start of 2004. 2003 taught me a lot about myself and other people.
I had two parties I could go to New Year's Eve. I stopped by the first before it really started, but was glad to have the intimate atmosphere to hang out with some of my closest friends and miss the ones who are not so close anymore. The next party was a huge blowout. I knew about 10 people there, and there had to have been over 100 easy. I met a bunch of people I would never had met before otherwise and am glad for it. Joel, Robbie and I pretty much huddled in a circle because we knew we were the only sane ones on the property, but we observed most of all. A little after the midnight hollering we were ready to get some coffee and wind down for the night. Perhaps sit and retrospect over 2003. How shitty it was but how, at the same time, this is the best time to be alive. It sucked for me on so many levels, but at the same time it taught me valuable lessons. On the other end of the spectrum it started what will be the best times of my life. It led me to Joel. As 2002 was ending and 2003 was begining I knew that I loved Joel and I would always love him and even if we weren't in a romantic relationship I knew I wanted to be there for him and be a part of his life.
Ok. On another note, I wanted to point this website and this article out. The website is Penny-Arcade and it is very cool. The writing is superb and funny. They know what they are talking about. More so than I would ever pretend to know. The article which Tycho is talking about is fucked up and biased. I just wanted to leave you with that to ponder. Later.
