Classes have started. I think this is going to be a very good semester. So I am going to be quite the busy little English Major this semester. I am looking forward to all the stuff I am going to write this semster. I am especially excited about my writing class.

I was up at 6:30 am to help set up Bam on the Beach. Three hours of work = free tickets for Joel and I to go to it if we want. The tickets go for $125. I bought my parents tickets as presents (birthday and xmas for the next 5 years). Well, I bought my dad's. My mom said she would buy her's so as for us to not be broke asses. My dad loves Emeril. He is very excited to b going. I think i secured myself as the favorite child right now so, Eddie, you better come up with something clever. :-)
I have a new "do". Brad's sister LaDonna and a friend of hers (Keith) have their own salon so i went there this week to do something with my hair and that she did. It is now red with blonde highlights and short. Not uber short like i had it a couple of years ago, but to my chin. It looks really good and I am pleased. I shall post pictures of myself so that all my revel in my cuteness.

wait. worry. who cares?

Things have been pretty slow around here. I am waiting for classes to start. I have just about drove myself crazy this summer, I am ready for classes to start so I can 1: have something to do, and 2: they can be over with and I can leave that college forever. I did some DVD shopping the other day. I picked up Hellboy, Kill Bill vol 2, and Millennium first season set. I am not disappointed with any of them. Kill Bill 2 is a little weak on the extra stuff on the DVD, but the others do not disappoint. I am quite impressed with the Millennium DVDs. I liked that show a lot. I had forgotten just how good it really was. It was first on in 1996 and that was the last time I saw the first season episodes. I would have to say now that I am older (I was 15 when the first season aired) I appreciate the show a lot more and understand it better. Chris Carter is an awesome writer and creator, too badFox fucked Millennium over around 3rd season. Fox wanted to make it more like X-Files with some humour in it, but in all honesty, Millennium never really had room for humour, it was too busy scaring the piss out of me and others who watched the show. Yeah, X-Files was scary, but with the characters in it and some of the situations some humour could be found from time to time. Millennium’s main character was a guy who went crazy because #1 he can see what the killers see in his mind, and #2 some serial killer stalker was sending polaroids of his wife and kid to him so he didn’t ever leave the house for a time because he wanted to protect his family. Yeah, Fox, find some humour in that character development. There was one episode in a later season, I am not sure what season exactly, but it was written by Darren Morgan and it wasn’t really a Millennium episode per say, it was sort of a stand alone episode of the show where Frank Black (main character of Millennium) appears. In the episode there are 3 or 4 old guys at a doughnut shop talking about their lives, but they aren’t ordinary men, they are demons that are talking about their demonic exploits on the human race and how dumb humans are because of how simple we think life is. Each one tells their story in turn, but they all have one thing in common, they had run into Frank Black, and he saw what they truly were, even if only for a second. That episode was great. Darren Morgan wrote a very good episode of X-Files as well. He also co-starred in a couple.
I have been playing Kingdom Hearts on the pS2. That game is nice. It is beautiful and easy to play and fun as well. I haven’t gotten too terribly far in it, but what I have gone through was fun and challenging. Not too hard to have me give up, but not too easy for me to get bored.
The weather here has been really strange. Beautiful, but strange. I can never remember it being under 70 degrees in the middle of August here, but it sure as gotten that low at night.Yesterday, all day, it was pleasant outside. The temp was maybe in the mid 80s, little humidity. It’s quite eerie to me, but I am not complaining. It I wonderful for us, but sucks for the people in Florida. With this cool front pushing through and actually hanging around for a couple of days it pushed the storms way to the east of us. The weather is eerie though. I was freezing last night and it was only 68, but I think my body is expecting it to be horribly hot and humid like it has been (mid to upper 90s during the day, mid to upper 80s at night wih 300% humidity), and it went into shock when it wasn’t. No wonder people are getting so sick around here. 30-40 degree differences in a day or so will mess your body up.
My husband is still slumbering in bed this morning, he was up late playing Doom I am sure. He has been in that mood as of late: pc fps (computer first person shooter games). He wants to play Doom 3 but our graphics card can’t handle it yet. I promised him we would get a new one once we get a little extra money. I wouldn’t mind playing it either. It looks really nice. The monitor looks like a window to another world. The designers did a good job on the lighting and the graphics. That game is a big step in games like that.
I am reading another Jeff Noon book, Automated Alice. It is a take on Alice in Wonderland that takes place in the same universe that Vurt takes place. It is good. The style is different in Alice than in Vurt, but he is relying heavily on Carroll’s influence. I would recommend it if you are an Alice fan. It is quite interesting. Out.

He's rich, bitch! (toot! toot!)

Dave Chappelle just got a $50 million deal from Comedy Central for the next two seasons of his show. I think DVD revenues are in that cut too, but he gets some of that action as well. Shit, he is one rich mother fucker. His seasons consist of 13 episodes, 10 of which are actual episodes the others are "best of" shows and music only shows. Tell me that is money for pretty much nothing. Capitalism at its finest. New season should be out early next year. Well, you can read the article. Damn. That is a lot of money.
