I have been wanting to update and write more, but just haven't had the motivation to update. I have been writing on my other story idea. I type out a paragraph or two a day when I have the time and the energy. The house is slowly getting redecorated and getting ready for the new arrival. So much has to be done and there isn't too much time left. Decemeber will be here before I am ready, I know. Joel is in Indianapolis this week to train and will be coming home tonight. We adopted another puppy. He is a doxle (beagle and dachshund mix) and is adorable. His name is Gurney (as in Gurney Halleck) and he gets along with everyone very nicely. Baby Julian is doing great. I just went to the doctor yesterday and he said everything is going very well. I am just the right size and the heart beat is strong and normal and I start going back every two weeks to make sure everything is going well. I am having a good time being pregnant. It is scary and wonderful and it is all going to be worth it when we have this small person in our lives. I just can't wait to meet him. I get more and more excited the more baby stuff I get. I can't wait to move it out of the garage and put it all into its place in the baby's room. It is so very awesome in the true sense of the word. It's awesome like a hundred billion hot dogs. It's the dog's bollocks.
We are back from our trip to Washington state. It is very pretty up there. We went to Richland and then drove to Seattle. I am glad we drove because it was a beautiful trip. Seattle had a "heat wave" while we were there. Temps got up to 92, but with humidity I would guess around 10 % it wasn't really bad for us. It didn't really get warm until 4 or 5 in the evening, but the sun doesn't go down until 10 p.m. or so. I have pictures, but the computer the pictures are on decided to crash, so Joel is working on that and hopefully we can have that back up and running in a week. He has to back up all the files on it to make sure we don't lose it all, and that is going to take a while. So far it seems like only the C drive is damaged, but we are backing up the other 5 drives just in case. He has a lot of stuff on there. I enjoyed everything we did in Seattle, but I was very disappointed in the Experience Music Project. I think they left a lot of things out, mainly David Bowie. Not a poster, guitar, or costume in sight. Nowhere was he mentioned, and I think he has a significant enough impact on the music industry to warrant a display of some sort. Meanwhile at the Sci-Fi Museum and Hall of Fame (which kicked ass, I was very impressed with that place. I went in and didn't expect much, but it rocked!) there was a display of Ziggy Stardust. I think that maybe they need to get together and discuss. Not that Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars don't deserve a display at the Sci-Fi Museum, I just think that Bowie deserves a little respect in the EMP. The Pacific Science Center was very cool. Joel and I enjoyed the Game On exhibit there. It was a history of video games with hundreds of playable games from arcade cabinets to ataris to nintendos, playstations, xboxes, and everything else you can think of that is related to video games. We have a ton of pictures from that. Plus there are displays from the people who made the games and information on how to make games. It was really cool. The PSC also had a butterfly garden that was beautiful and an insect zoo that gave me the creeps. We had so much good food and everyone there was super nice. I loved it there, but I was glad to get home. It was nice to not have to deal with "aftermath". Everyone up there has pretty much forgotten about it, and I was glad to do that for a week.
