The Surreal Life Hurricane Style

I can't tell you how many entries I have started here and just closed a few seconds later because I have no urge to type.

It is sad when you live in a place where a two year old thinks every trailer she sees is a "Fema trailer".

It is so strange how things change. How we are so used to the debris, the broken trees, blue roofs, trailers and driving down the beach. When I ride down the beach now the damage seems like it belongs there, it is part of our daily comings and goings. The new word here on the Gulf Coast? "New-normal".

Paul and I have a house in Pass Christian. I thought it would make me so happy to get out of that box we were living in, but I still find myself depressed and lithargic. The only thing that takes that away lately is running a hot bath and turning all wrinkly after hours of reading about someone else's misery.

Just for those keeping track here is the "new" animal list:

Cats

Gizzmo
Frosty
Skitty
Omega

Birds

Indy
Sly
Arlo
Flip
Heddy
Tweety
Ellie

Rodents

Bogie
Scabbers
Little O

We named our new cockatiel Arlo....hehehehe.

I also wanted to remind everyone to think about my Zoey Bird. I miss my baby girl.
